Media Services Advertising World Wide, a Carlsbad-based company that specializes in managing out-of-home advertising opportunities at various locations, is partnering with the WaterSmart campaign by making outdoor sign and billboard locations available for no placement cost. The company has provided space at Mission Valley, Horton Plaza, Parkway Plaza, Plaza Bonita and North County Fair. These placements will remain posted up to one year based on space availability.


San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E) is partnering with Live WaterSmart by promoting water and energy savings through distribution of water-efficient devices. SDG&E also offers rebates on water-efficient clothes washers.

SDG&E is distributing 10,000 water-efficient spray nozzles in its water-energy efficiency kits that are disseminated to single-family homes through SDG&E’s Residential Energy Savings Assistance Program. The program assists eligible customers based on income and household size, or by the household’s participation in certain public assistance programs. The kits also include educational materials and water-and energy-efficiency devices, including aerators and showerheads.

SDG&E also offers a $70 rebate on an ENERGY STAR® clothes washer. ENERGY STAR® labeled models meet strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and cost less to operate than standard models because they use about 25 percent less energy and more than 40 percent less water than regular washers.

In addition, the Water Authority participated in SDG&E’s Sustainability Circles Program to deliver drought updates and information on available water-efficiency rebates, programs, tools, and resources to large commercial and public sector customers. Program participants represented various business sectors from throughout the region.



The California Restaurant Association, San Diego Chapter is encouraging its members to follow water-efficient practices and its promoting water-use efficiency. The association distributed table tents developed with the Water Authority to promote San Diego Restaurant Week, Sept. 25-Oct. 2, and remind patrons that water is only served on request.




With more than 12,000 members, the Greater San Diego Association of REALTORS® is the largest trade association in the county. It promotes the Live WaterSmart campaign by helping to distribute door hangers that remind homeowners about free WaterSmart Checkups offered by the Water Authority and its 24 member agencies.



The San Diego Community College District is partnering with the Water Authority by sharing messages on electronic reader boards at its campuses to promote WaterSmart living. The district serves approximately 130,000 students annually through three two-year colleges and seven Continuing Education campuses.

The San Diego County Apartment Association is aSDCAA leading trade association serving the needs of individuals and companies who own, manage, or provide services and products to more than 150,000 rental housing units in San Diego County and affiliated areas of Imperial and Riverside counties. The association is partnering with the Water Authority to distribute water-use efficiency reminders to residents.
